Katryn (Katy) is an associate in the firm’s Portland Office, where she has the privilege of representing victims who have been tragically affected by mesothelioma. Prior to joining MRHFM, Katy worked in the insurance industry, providing medical-legal analysis for general liability and automobile claims.
Katy graduated cum laude from IIT Chicago Kent College of Law. She was a member of law review and received the CALI award as the top student in her International Civil Rights class.
Katy received her Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University, where she majored in nursing. Following her undergraduate studies, she worked as a registered nurse, primarily caring for children and new mothers. Katy then worked as a nurse paralegal at a personal injury law firm in Illinois, specializing in medical malpractice and complex personal injury claims.
Outside of the office, Katy spends her free time hiking, reading, relaxing with her husband Bob, and visiting her kids and other family members back in the Midwest.
Katy is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Oregon.
Experience
Began her legal career as a nurse-paralegal at a personal injury firm in Illinois, where she worked on medical malpractice and complex personal injury cases. After law school, Katy worked at a defense firm representing not-for-profit nursing homes and then in the insurance industry, providing medical-legal analysis for general liability and automobile claims.
