The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization will once again project the “Voice of the Victims” at the 11th annual International Asbestos Awareness Conference to be held April 17-19, 2015 in Washington, D.C. The three-day international conference features various presentation sessions related to the latest medical advancements, patient and caregiver advice, prevention, and advocacy, and brings in a special keynote speakers prominent in the mesothelioma advocacy community. The theme for this year’s conference is “Where Knowledge and Action Unite.”
This year’s schedule of events include a Washington, D.C. Trolley Tour and Lunch for mesothelioma patients and families, private speakers, honorees, cutting-edge presentation sessions regarding the latest medical advancements and awareness efforts, a keynote address and conference, an awards and recognition dinner, and a unity and remembrance brunch.
While a select few of the events are closed to invitation only, all are welcome at the conference sessions to learn more about asbestos exposure and the ADAO’s fight for a global ban against asbestos use. Exposure to asbestos is the only agreed upon cause of mesothelioma, and millions of Americans were exposed to this deadly substance throughout the 20th century. Although many industries in the United States have discontinued the use of asbestos, it is still legal and continues to be a deadly threat to those who are exposed.
