In an admirable effort to spread awareness about mesothelioma, Janelle Bedel participated in a series documenting her personal fight with mesothelioma published in the Rushville Republican.  Starting in June 2007, the newspaper ran several stories and updates about Janelle up until her battle recently ended in June 2013.

Rushville’s Wonder Woman, a nickname coined by family and friends, was an inspiration to other victims and very active in the cancer community.  Two organizations in which Janelle participated and impacted include the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization and the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation.
